Founder and President
Momin Ahmed is an American entrepreneur and global advocate studying at Hinsdale Central High School. He is the Founder and President of Model UN Academy, the world’s largest youth-led educational Model UN nonprofit, which has provided free, original resources to over 16,000 students from 230 high schools across 48 U.S. states, the District of Columbia, and 36 countries. These resources have been translated into 104 languages—totaling 1,300,000 words.
Momin has been profiled on the front page of the Chicago Tribune (Life + Travel Section), featured in Patch, The Hinsdalean, Hinsdale Magazine, and Harlan Cohen's Hinsdale Community Speaker Series, and aggregated by Apple News, Google News, Yahoo News, Newsbreak, Illinois School Network, Global News Insights, PressReader, D86 Strong, Hinsdale Township District 86 News, Hinsdale Central High School News, and Good News. Momin has received the United Nations Association of the United States of America Ambassador Award, a Letter of Recognition from United States Senator Tammy Duckworth, and a State of Illinois Proclamation from Governor JB Pritzker. He's also earned both national and international Model UN awards.
Momin has been named a Delegate to the United States–United Nations Summit, where he will speak to members of Congress on Capitol Hill in June 2025 to advocate for United Nations funding.
Model UN Experience
Momin is the Co-President of Hinsdale Central High School's 114-person Model UN program. He has participated in Model UN since 2019, attended 10 conferences (4-time international qualifier), and earned 5 awards (1 national and 1 international).
Momin is the Executive Director and Founding Deputy Secretary General of DuPage Model United Nations (DUMUN), a DuPage County-wide Model UN conference, nonprofit, and partner of UNA-Chicago. DUMUN I hosted 74 middle/high school delegates and raised $5,150 for the UNHCR and the WHO. The inaugural conference was featured on WBEZ Chicago, UNA-Chicago News, The Hinsdalean, Hinsdale Magazine, and Hinsdale Township District 86 News and aggregated by Apple News, Google News, Yahoo News, and Newsbreak.
