Meet Sem Teferi, a Model UN Academy Senior Fellow and the Cohort I recipient of the Global Impact Award.
Sem launched Pulse, a platform dedicated to youth mental health advocacy, in his hometown of Addis Ababa, Ethiopia. Having witnessed his parents navigate mental illness, Sem developed a deep understanding of how mental health stigma affects not only individuals but entire communities.
Under his leadership, Pulse has hosted biweekly workshops for over 75 students, established partnerships with two local programs, and raised mental health awareness among more than 300 community members. Sem continues to work with Pulse as an advocate of United Nations Sustainable Development Goal #3 (Good Health and Well-Being).
It all begins with an idea. Maybe you want to launch a business. Maybe you want to turn a hobby into something more. Or maybe you have a creative project to share with the world. Whatever it is, working with Model UN Academy can make all the difference.
