Founder and President
Momin Ahmed is an American entrepreneur studying at Hinsdale Central High School. He is the Founder and President of Model UN Academy, the world’s largest youth-led educational Model UN nonprofit, which has provided free, original written guides to over 17,000 students across 81 countries. These resources have been translated into 104 languages—totaling 1,300,000 words.
Momin has been profiled in the Chicago Tribune and covered by Apple News, Google News, Yahoo News, and dozens more. His work has also appeared on WBEZ Chicago.
Momin has received the United Nations Association of the United States of America Ambassador Award, Youth Service America’s Everyday Young Hero Award, as well as national and international Model UN awards. He was named a Delegate to the United States–United Nations Advocacy Summit, where he spoke to members of Congress in closed-door meetings on Capitol Hill.
Model UN Experience
Momin is the Co-President of Hinsdale Central High School's Model UN program of 100+ students. He has participated in Model UN since 2019, attended 10 conferences (4-time international qualifier), and earned 5 awards (1 national and 1 international).
Momin is the Founding Executive Director and Deputy Secretary General of DuPage Model United Nations (DUMUN), a DuPage County-wide Model UN conference and nonprofit. DUMUN I hosted 74 middle/high school delegates and raised $5,150 for the UNHCR and the WHO. The inaugural conference had a 19-person leadership team and was partnered with UNA–Chicago. DUMUN I was also featured in WBEZ Chicago, the Hinsdalean, and Hinsdale Magazine.
