Director of Programs

Sharmagne Bacongallo is the Director of Programs at Model UN Academy, an edtech nonprofit that's engaged over 21,000 students worldwide with 1.5 million words of free resources on diplomacy through Model UN. As Director of Programs, she currently oversees planning and execution of the organization’s programs, mainly through spearheading the application and recruitment process of its global and regional projects.

Sharmagne is currently a senior studying the Humanities and Social Sciences Program at Assumption Antipolo. In the field of Model UN, Sharmagne has established herself as a consistent and effective head delegate across multiple major conferences, most notably Harvard WorldMUN, Philippine International MUN, and Philippine Science MUN, among others. She has garnered recognition for her exemplary performance, securing awards such as Best Presenter, Best Position Paper, and Best Delegate.

Beyond the scene of diplomacy, she is the co-founder of Batang May Alam Philippines, a youth-led NGO working to make quality civic education accessible. She was the first sustainability officer of her school's student council and the youngest delegate to both the ASEAN Youth Sustainability Forum and the Republic of Korea and ASEAN Connectivity Forum. Following this, Sharmagne has recently been elected as the incoming president of the student council, further cementing her dedication and testament to servant leadership.
