SHARMAGNE BACONGALLO

Director of Programs

Sharmagne Bacongallo is the Director of Programs at Model UN Academy, the world’s largest youth-led educational Model UN nonprofit, with 18,000 students across 101 countries. As Director of Programs, she currently authors the comprehensive modules for the Model UN Academy Fellowship, and spearheads substantive discussions to ensure in-depth comprehension of the material among Fellowship Cohort II.

Sharmagne is currently a junior in high school taking up the Humanities and Social Sciences Strand. She has established herself to be a consistent and effective head delegate across multiple major conferences, most notably Harvard WorldMUN and Philippine International MUN. She has garnered recognition for her exemplary performance, securing awards such as Best Presenter, Best Position Paper, and Best Delegate.

Her diplomatic footprint extends to her active participation in ASEAN Youth initiatives. Notably, being the youngest delegate among 70+ peers at both the ASEAN Youth Sustainability Forum and the Republic of Korea and ASEAN Connectivity Forum.

Outside Model UN, Sharmagne is a dedicated and pioneering student leader as well as an advocate for sustainability and community welfare. She currently serves as the first Sustainability Officer of her school’s Student Council, driving school-wide initiatives on waste reduction and climate action. Her extensive community involvement includes serving in various outreach programs and national organizations. She's also the Co-Founder of Batang May Alam Philippines, a youth-led NGO working to make quality civic education accessible.

Driven by a vision of sustainable global governance, Sharmagne's servant leadership transcends titles, translating diplomatic insight from school and the conference room to tangible local action while shaping the next generation of Fellows and diplomatic leaders.
